The Blue hole is undoubtedly the most popular scuba dive site in all the maltese islands.It is situated in the west side of Gozo at Dwejra Bay which is a natural heritage site.The blue Hole is around 18 metres deep and at 7 metres there is an arch way which allows you to dive to the open sea.It is a spectacular dive site..Under the arch way one can view beautiful golden cup corals.When one dives out to the direction of the Azure Window there is a drop off which goes down to 60 metres.At 30-40 metres one can usually encounter big groopers and around the reef one can view a beautiful seen of dampsel fish(see main page)parrot fish and different kinds of fish life.
On the inner side of the Blue Hole there is a very big cave with sandy bottom.The cave is quite deep inside the blue hole and torch is a must.One has to always be careful not to touch the sandy bottom as it can murk the water and reduce the vis to the exit.
